Homer Bailey Creeps Me Out.

By Andy Burdick

You’ve been warned: this is not baseball analysis of the statistical type.

I’m watching NL Central competitor Homer Bailey pitch tonight between innings of the Pirates game and every time I see him, he gives me the chills. Not because of his no hitter against the Pirates.  No, not the no hitter.  But every time I see a picture of Homer Bailey, I think of this:

It struck me the first time I saw him, but Homer Bailey looks just like Christian Bale in ‘American Psycho’.  Not like Christian Bale in ‘The Dark Knight’ or ‘Newsies’, but he gives off that creepy anti-hero vibe of Patrick Bateman every time I see him throwing off the mound.

Homer Bailey - Christian Bale - Patrick Bateman

If Homer Bailey listens to Huey Lewis and the News and enjoys tanning beds… I’d maintain my distance.

Maybe it’s his no-nonsense glares from the mound or his chiseled features or his eerily similar smile, but seriously… he gives me the creeps.
